Life can get busy and you may not always make yourself a top priority. However, if you want to feel your best then you need to make it a point to take better care of yourself.

The good news is that it’s never too late to change your habits and way of life. There are adjustments you can make that will have a big impact on your well-being and health. Learn about some actions you can take to live a healthier lifestyle.

Practice Self-Care

Putting yourself first above all else is never selfish. You’ll be a better person and caretaker for others when you make yourself a priority. One idea is to indulge in different self-care activities throughout the day. It can be as simple as going out for a walk or taking a warm bath. Find ways to relax and put your mind and body at ease throughout your busy schedule. There are mental as well as physical health benefits that come with practicing self-care consistently.

Schedule Regular Check-Ups

Another action you can take to live a healthier lifestyle is to schedule regular check-ups. For example, you should make sure you see your doctor and dentist throughout the year. You will also want to make it a point to get your eyes checked out so you can ensure everything is good with them. If there are known issues then you should bring up these discomforts with your eye doctor. You may be a candidate for Cataract surgery which will allow you to see better. Start by getting the right diagnosis and then take care of the issue right away so you can avoid it snowballing into a larger problem.

Cook Healthy Meals

Get busy in the kitchen cooking for yourself if you want to live a healthier lifestyle. You should pay special attention to what you’re putting in your body for fuel. Do your best to eat lean protein, fruits, and vegetables, and stay away from foods that have a lot of sugar. When you cook at home you’ll have more control over the ingredients and portion sizes. You’ll also save money and calories when you don’t eat out as much. Cooking can be a mindful and enjoyable experience if you take your time and are willing to experiment with different recipes.

Move More & Make Exercise A Priority

You should also make sure you are getting up and moving more throughout the day. It’s especially important if you have a sedentary job where you sit a lot. Live a healthier lifestyle by making exercise a top priority in your schedule. If you’re short on time you should at least try to get outside for a walk. You may also want to consider joining a gym so you stay motivated to want to work out. You’ll enjoy many health benefits from moving more and exercising and your clothes will start to fit better.

Conclusion

These are some practical actions you can take that will allow you to live a healthier lifestyle. You’ll notice that you feel better overall and have more natural energy when you take good care of yourself. Be patient with yourself because it can be challenging to make changes to your daily habits.

I failed my annual mammogram. I was scheduled for I failed my annual mammogram. I was scheduled for a diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound to potentially look for breast cancer…and boy did this cause some scanxiety!Good news! There’s no lumps, bumps, cysts, tumors, etc. my tests are normal. So why did I flunk my first mammogram? It could have been a glitch. Or…Hormones can cause breast tissue to be slightly different from week to week or scan to scan, which is why they suggest not doing your scan the week before your period (which is when I got scanned). It can be hard for women to avoid that week though when appointments are often made months in advance.Either way, I’ll be back next year for my 3rd mammogram. I hope you’ll remember to schedule yours.#breastcancer #mammogram #annualmammogram #scanxiety #perimenopausehealth #womenover40
