How To Make Sure Your Heart Is Healthy

All your organs are important, of course, but if you had to put them in order of importance, it’s likely your heart would go at the top – after all, if your heart stops working, that’s the end, whereas if other organs stop working, there are ways to help you recover (that’s not always the case, of course, so it’s wise to take care of all your organs in any way you can).

It’s a great idea to have a good basic understanding of what the heart needs and what you have to do to ensure it stays as healthy as possible – once you do that and put some measures in place to make it happen, you’re going to find that the rest of your health is generally taken care of as well. With that in mind, here are some ways to make sure your heart is healthy – read on to find out what you should do.

Eat A Balanced Diet

Everyone has to eat every day – multiple times a day – and what you eat has a direct impact on your health, including your heart health, so it makes sense that you work hard on enjoying a balanced diet. Since eating is something you have to do so often, you’ll quickly be able to experiment with all kinds of different healthy options, ensuring that you’re not putting your heart at risk with the things you’re eating.

What you need to look for are things that don’t have too much saturated fats, for example, and stay away from processed foods altogether. You’ll really need lots of fruits and vegetables, lean proteins, healthy fats, and whole grains, but you can start small by adding a little more of each thing to your menu plans each week and building up from there – and of course, you might already be eating well anyway, so rather than a big change, it might just be a small tweak.

Stay Active

Something else that we should all be doing on a regular basis is exercising and getting active in whatever way works for you, but the fact is that unless you really love working out, it’s not usually something that makes its way to the top of the to-do list. That’s a problem because if you want your heart to be healthy, you need to exercise, and you need to do it every day if you can.

Some figures to work towards are at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity or 75 minutes of vigorous activity every week, and although that might sound like a lot, when you break it down over each day, it’s not actually all that bad, and you should be able to find it in. Or rather, if you want to protect your heart and make it as healthy as possible, you’ll have to find a way to fit it in. When it’s only 20 or so minutes a day, however, that really isn’t too much to ask, especially when it’s so good for your heart health.

Beat Any Addictions

If you have any addictions, you should know they’ll have a significant impact on your health. A lot of this focuses on your heart, which could end up getting unhealthier and unhealthier as time goes on. By focusing on sober living and similar help, you can beat these addictions long-term. It’s worth putting the time and effort into.

While this takes some time and effort upfront, it’ll be more than worth it from the start. Thankfully, there are quite a few resources that can help you with it. You’ll see the benefits of this help relatively quickly, and you’ll feel them long-term. Your heart will be healthier for the rest of your life.

Try IV Chelation Therapy

There are lots of well-known strategies for improving your heart health, but there are some that are less well-known, and IV chelation therapy is one of those strategies. This therapy involves using an IV to administer chelating agents into the body, and these agents help to bind heavy metals and minerals in the bloodstream, and then ensure they’re removed from the body.

What has that got to do with your heart? Well, research is still being carried out, but some studies suggest that this kind of therapy can improve your heart health by removing plaque buildup in the arteries, reducing inflammation, and boosting circulation. So if you have a history of heart disease or heavy metal toxicity, chelation therapy might just do the trick when it comes to keeping you healthy in the future.

Manage Stress

Stress… it’s one of the worst things you can go through for many reasons, and one of those reasons is the fact that it can do a lot of damage to your heart – it gives you elevated blood pressure, for example, and can potentially lead to inflammation. That’s why, if you want to keep your heart healthy, you need to incorporate stress-reducing practices into your daily routine.

What do we mean by stress-reducing activities? They can really be whatever you like, and as long as you’re relaxing or focusing on the task at hand and not thinking about what’s causing you stress (and ideally you’ll be doing both of these things at the same time), it will help protect your heart. It could be something like yoga or meditation, spending time in nature, exercising, reading, listening to music, doing a hobby, and so on. The more you can do to manage stress, the healthier your heart will be.

Conclusion

Taking care of your heart is essential for overall health and well-being. By following the tips mentioned in this article, such as eating a balanced diet, exercising regularly, managing stress, and trying IV therapy, you can ensure the health of your heart. However, if you are facing difficulties in incorporating these tips into your lifestyle, it may be beneficial to seek guidance from a stress management expert, such as Dr. Michele Ross. They can provide personalized advice and support to help you improve your heart health.

I failed my annual mammogram. I was scheduled for I failed my annual mammogram. I was scheduled for a diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound to potentially look for breast cancer…and boy did this cause some scanxiety!Good news! There’s no lumps, bumps, cysts, tumors, etc. my tests are normal. So why did I flunk my first mammogram? It could have been a glitch. Or…Hormones can cause breast tissue to be slightly different from week to week or scan to scan, which is why they suggest not doing your scan the week before your period (which is when I got scanned). It can be hard for women to avoid that week though when appointments are often made months in advance.Either way, I’ll be back next year for my 3rd mammogram. I hope you’ll remember to schedule yours.#breastcancer #mammogram #annualmammogram #scanxiety #perimenopausehealth #womenover40
