Are you having problems sleeping and wondering if cannabis can help you? According to the National Sleep Foundation, people need 7 to 9 hours of restful sleep each night. You may be having problems like anxiety or muscle cramps that affect your sleep. However, a visit to your local dispensary, such as Mountain Annie’s Cannabis (mountainanniescannabis.com), may be what you need to get the quality sleep you’ve been missing for so long. Here are ways cannabis can help you.

Reduce Depression

One of the side effects of poor sleep is depression and anxiety. However, people may already have anxiety, which may be the reason they can’t sleep. When you use CBD or other forms of cannabis, it can produce a feeling of goodness thanks to its release of endorphins. It also works with other chemicals in the brain as it releases serotonin and dopamine, both known for making people feel happy. As a result, a clearer mind free from depression can fall asleep easier and hopefully avoid nightmares.

Stop Sleep Disruption

Some people may have Restless Leg Syndrome, which involves uncomfortable sensations in the legs, like throbbing. When you have this ailment, it can constantly cause you to wake up. When you’re constantly waking up, you may not be able to achieve REM or deep sleep that allows you to dream. As a result, your sleep pattern will be disrupted, causing you to feel groggy in the morning.

Chronic Pain Relief

Many people use some form of cannabis as a way to ease muscle tension and relieve pain. People with chronic pain from cancer surgery, back pain, multiple sclerosis, or inflammation from arthritis can have problems sleeping due to their constant pain. When CBD or THC can work to reduce pain, people are less likely to wake up in the middle of the night. They can also fall asleep faster because the body is relaxed. The chemicals in cannabis simultaneously relax the mind and the body enough to provide an ideal environment for sleep to occur and to remain in the REM stage until ready to wake up.

Faster Sleep

According to Psychology Today, cannabis also makes people fall asleep faster. Studies have shown that using cannabis has caused people dealing with insomnia or other sleep problems to fall asleep in 30 minutes less than normal. The sedative properties in this plant also worked for people who don’t have issues sleeping, as it reduced their fall asleep time by 15 minutes.

You don’t have to suffer due to chronic sleep problems. If you want to rely on a natural solution, cannabis is something to consider. Whether you need something to help shorten your fall asleep time or reduce chronic pain keeping you up at night. This plant can do the trick. Use it in different forms, from oil to pills to inhaling it, depending on your needs.
